Breaking news - the PanMacmillan rights manager has just emailed to say that Spanish rights to Testament have just been bought by Editorial ViaMagna. They have no publication schedule but it should be available in Spanish sometime in 2009. Spanish! I mean, a lot of people in the world speak Spanish...

Then another email arrived to let me know who is going to translate Testament into German. (German rights to Testament were bought back in the Autumn by Goldmann Verlag so I haven't blogged about it.) The translator's name is Sibylle Schmidt and she is the German voice of Sara Paretsky, Mo Hayder and Alice Hoffman!

OK, I am officially gobsmacked.
